The Eagle - Louisville

Hey there, Darlings!

We decided to give The Eagle a try on Bardstown Road, and it was disappointing to be honest. I’ll tell ya why! They had a cool outdoor space, but we opted to sit inside because it was less crowded. We started with their hushpuppies and they were decent but it’s pretty hard to screw up hushpuppies in my opinion. We of course had to try their famous hot chicken, and we were disappointed. Their signature spicy hot honey was quite good, but the chicken wasn’t anything to praise about. The chicken was fine, but when you are a restaurant known specifically for your chicken, I expect it to be out of this world and it just wasn’t! It was even slightly dried out, perhaps they had an off night, but I won’t be going back anytime soon to find out. We also added a side of their mac n cheese, and it was good but not amazing either. All in all, I’d rate them a 5/10. I will give them a second chance sometime because I always try to give restaurants two chances, but it won’t be anytime soon.
